Deborah holds a BA from Binghamton University and an MA from Stony Brook University. After finishing her master’s degree, she enrolled in the World Union of Jewish Students (WUJS) and immersed herself in Israeli culture. Deborah enjoyed working as a tour guide’s assistant traveling throughout Israel and later for the first woman Brigadier General (res.) in the IDF. She’s worked throughout the Jewish world, from the Hillel Foundation, where she led many Birthright tours, to the Zionist Organization of America. A highlight of her career was being a delegate for the 38th World Zionist Congress and working with world leaders on that campaign. Deborah is thrilled to be a part of IsraelLINK and hopes to positively impact Israel education throughout the Northeast. She enjoys nature, photography, theatre, and dance in her spare time. She lives on the North Shore of Long Island with her husband, Eyal, and two children, Benjamin and David.
Favorite Israel Experience: Meeting the undercover unit the Fauda series is based on and navigating through a training tunnel!
Favorite IsraelLINK lesson: Complex Conversations is my favorite lesson because it gives students real-life skills they can take with them wherever they go.
