Ida joins us after careers in education, Israel nonprofit, literacy, and tourism. Originally from Harrisburg, PA, but living most of her life in the Washington Metropolitan area, she began her professional career in sales and marketing for El Al Israel Airlines. She built on this experience to become the Director of Travel, developing international educational tours for a large nonprofit. Then and now, Ida has taught in several religious schools, bringing her talent for developing curricula to the classrooms. She implements her philosophy of making learning meaningful and enjoyable, providing the tools and resources to engage knowledgeably and effectively. She was on the staff of the Milton Gottesman Jewish Day School in Washington, D.C., for eight years, where she taught Judaic Studies, biblical texts, and Hebrew to middle schoolers. She loves to tell her students anecdotes of when she studied at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. A life-long learner, Ida has just completed a master’s program in teaching Judaic studies. Coming full circle, she has the perfect combination of Jewish studies and Israel education at IsraelLINK.
Favorite Israel Experience: Working with Ethiopian children who were just beginning to learn Hebrew. Every day was both meaningful and fun!
Favorite IsraelLINK Unit: Innovation and Technology because of its cutting-edge approach to learning about Israel’s contributions to making the world a better place.
